I have owned this Whites surf PI Dual Field a few years now. It is truly one of the best waterproof pulse induction detectors ever made. I am an avid PI hunter coming back many years and I have found many quality treasures using this technology.
Re: Whites Surf II This is a Pulse Induction detector and is very good at saltwater beaches and is very deep because it does not need to be ground balanced. However you would go crazy using it in fresh water because of all the tiny pieces of iron which rust away faster in saltwater to make it more useful.

The PI Pro is a better machine than the Surf PI for small gold and the Dual Field is a better machine than the PI Pro. The Dual Field has an adjustable pulse delay that can be set very low to pick up smaller gold and deeper and I find it to be a lot more stable than the PI Pro. White's just keeps making their PI machine better and better.
